Methodology

How the numbers are made

  1. Snapshot. We save each public pricing page (raw HTML, extracted text and, where the vendor exposes it, the structured pricing data behind the page) with the date.
  2. Structure. Prices are copied into JSON by hand from those snapshots: free tier, billing unit, plan bases, and graduated tiers or step prices. If a price isn't published, we record "contact sales" or "unknown". We never interpolate or guess.
  3. Compute. Graduated tiers are summed per band. Step plans (e.g. "up to 25K sessions") use the cheapest published step that covers your volume. We pick the cheapest plan that covers your volume for each vendor.
  4. Convert. LLM tools bill traces, spans, units, requests or GB. Defaults: 5 spans per trace, 2 LLM calls per trace, 10 KB per trace. You can edit them in the calculator.
  5. Watch. A daily job re-snapshots pages, diffs the price-related lines and logs changes for human review.

Estimates exclude seats, add-ons, retention upgrades, taxes, discounts and negotiated contracts unless stated on the vendor page. Always confirm on the vendor's own pricing page.
